Application processes and subprocesses are EmpowerID Locations that provide logical containers for the placement of placing groups in a manner that matches their function in an organization. This article uses the default node structure to assign groups to Application Processes and subprocesses. If you are using use nodes other than those depicted, simply replace them with those used in your environment. See Changing IAM Shop Application and Business Roles Parent Nodes for information on changing these nodes.

  1. Navigate to the Find Groups page by expanding Identity Administration and selecting Groups from the navbar.

  2. Select the All Groups tab, search for the group you want to assign, and click the Logon Name link for it.

    This directs you to the View One page for the group. View One pages are designed to facilitate the viewing and management managing of their corresponding objects in EmpowerID.

  3. Click the Edit link under Process Locations in the EmpowerID Attributes accordion.

  4. Click the Select a Location link, search for and select the desired location, and click Save to close the tree. Please note that the selected location must have its Usage Type set to Process to show in the tree. If the searched location does is not show in the tree, ensure that the Usage Type is set to Process.

  5. If needed, click the Edit link again and repeat step 4 to assign the group to another Process location.

  6. When finished assigning locations, click Save on the main page.
