This article outlines the process for users to onboard their personal credentials using the Onboard Credential wizard workflow. This workflow guides users through securely adding and managing their personal credentials within the system. Once onboarded, these credentials can be utilized used to access computers via Privileged Session Management (PSM) whenever applicable. This capability ensures that users can seamlessly authenticate and perform tasks , ensuring secure and controlled authentication for tasks performed on systems using their own credentials in a secure and controlled mannerpersonal credentials.

Personal credentials are automatically assigned to the Default Personal Credentials Policy.

Step 1 – Open the Onboard Credentials Wizard

  1. Sign in to the IAM Shop portal.

  2. Select Credentials from the Resource Type dropdown.

  3. Select Navigate to the Workflows tab and click .

  4. Click Onboard a Credential.

    This action opens the Onboard Credential wizard workflow.

Step 2 – Enter Personal Credential Information

Fill in the following fields in the wizard:

  1. Name – Enter a unique name for the credential.

  2. Display Name – Enter a display name for the credential.

  3. Credential Type – Select Default Credentials.

  4. User Name – Enter the username portion of the credentials.

  5. Password – Enter the password portion of the credentials. (This field is not used when using SSH Keys.)

  6. SSH Key – If you are onboarding credentials

    upload the SSH public key file.

  7. Encrypted Notes – Optionally, enter any notes related to the credentials.

  8. Description – Optionally, enter a description for the credential.

  9. Check Personal Credential – Check this option to indicate that the credential is for personal use.

  10. EnabledCheck Enabled this option to enable the credentials for usage.

Step 3 – Complete the Onboarding Process

  1. Click Next to complete the onboarding processproceed.

  2. Review the Operation Execution Summary to verify the information.

  3. Click Submit to close the operation execution summarywizard.

Expected Results

Upon successful onboardingOnce the personal credentials are successfully onboarded, EmpowerID creates the credential record. Users with personal credentials can view and unlock these credentials from manage their personal credentials by navigating to the Manage Access tab on the Credentials page. This functionality feature allows users to manage unlock their credentials effectively and ensures when needed, ensuring they have the necessary access to perform their roles securely and efficiently.
