If you want to directly assign a license bundle to numerous user accounts or groups, you can avoid assigning them to the license bundle manually by using the Import License Assignees method available for each license bundle. This makes it easy for you to download the users in your Azure AD and then upload that file, with modifications as needed, to license bundlebundles.

The workflow supports assigning accounts, people and groups object types to license bundles and takes as input a delimited CSV file with a list of either Account LogonName, Person Email or Group LogonName.

Info

If you download users in your Azure AD, the only field needed is userPrincipalName. Change the name of this field to LogonName when importing the file.

This method takes in a delimited flat file of user accounts with the first row containing the field names, such as UserPrincipalName and JobTitlerequired field name for the object type as mentioned above. Once the flat file is uploaded and submitted, all accounts in the file are processed by the Fulfillment Queue and granted licenses in Azure by being added to the appropriate license fulfillment group.

License assignments are processed by the Fulfillment Queue, which is a Daemon job that runs in the background. Once the Fulfillment Queue grabs the assignments, you can view the process status in the Fulfillment Queue Accordion of the Fulfillment tab on this page. From start to finish, it takes the queue approximately 10 minutes to complete license assignments.
