EmpowerID The MyIdentity microservice provides a central location called the "IT Shop" from which users can request access to the roles, licenses and other resources your organization makes available. To request resources (known as “Business Requests”, users navigate to the IT Shop, where they can see their current business access and shop for more. Once they have located a desired resource that they are eligible to receive, they simply add it to their shopping cart and when ready submit the items in the cart for approval. If users are not ready to submit their request, they can navigate away from the IT Shop with losing the contents of their cart.

Figure 1 below show the main flow that occurs for users shopping for resources in the IT Shop.

Microservices are small, decoupled software modules that run independently and communicate with each other using specific API contracts. The EmpowerID IT Shop Microservice MyIdentity microservice follows this pattern, which allows the IT Shop to be deployed to IIS or hosted in Azure decoupled from the EmpowerID platform. MyIdentity can hosted in IIS or Azure. The deployment model for Azure hosting is depicted in Figure 2 1 below. In the figure, users can shop for licenses the organization has in Azure.
