The Join and Provision rules are configurable SQL statements that determine when a newly discovered orphan user account should be linked to an existing person, used to provision a new person object, or ignored. These rules can be edited in the EmpowerID web interface on the Lifecycle settings page. The Provision Rule will only be evaluated for Account Stores where the Allow Person Provision setting is enabled.
To illustrate this process the below figures illustrated shows the join of existing account to a person
As the picture shows the provision of the person is triggered based of on the authoritative source and accounts from other external systems are joined to the person based on criteria.
