EmpowerID supports the concept of a core identity. Just as a person can have multiple user accounts in different external directories so , a core identity can have more than one person Person Object where the core identity represents the central identityIdentity

  1. On the navbar, expand Admin, then EmpowerID Servers and Settings, and select EmpowerID System Settings.

  2. Search for "JoinToCI."

  4. Scroll and navigate to the Core Identity Inbox Settings section on the page.

  5. EmpowerID ships two pre-configured rules that you can enable be enabled by simply setting them to true or selecting the checkbox, and one that you can customize.

    • Join by First Name and Last Name – When set to true, joins Person accounts to the same core identity based on a match of first name , and last name and birth date.JoinToCIByFirstNameLasName

  6. Core Identity inbox settings also support custom rules for joining the Core Identity.

    If you want to create a custom rule that specifies different attributes that must match to join Person accounts to core identities, click the Edit button next to JoinToCICustomMatchAttributes and enter the appropriate comma separated list of Person attributes.

  7. If you want to enable one of the pre-configured rules, such as JoinToCIByBirthDateFirstNameLastName, click the Edit button next to that rule and change the value to true.

    • Join By Custom Match: This allows you to input a SQL query that defines the custom match that should be used to join Person accounts to the same core identity.

    • Core Identity Provision Rule: This allows you to configure a SQL query that can provision Person accounts to the Identity. If none of the rules above matches a person, this provision rule is a fallback and will determine how a Person object can be provisioned or linked to a core identity.

  8. The next time inventory runs and detects two or more people whose specified attributes match the rules you configured earlier in Core Identity Inbox Settings, EmpowerID provisions a core identity and links the discovered people to it.

  9. In future inventory runs, if EmpowerID detects another person with the same attributes as an existing core identity, it links the new person Person to it. 

View core identities

  1. On the navbar, expand Identity Administration and select People.

  2. Click the Core Identities tab.

  3. Search for a core identity and click the Core Identity ID column link for it.

    Clicking on the link opens the View One page for the core identity. This page lets you view information and manage the core identity.

  4. To Expand the People accordion to see all people associated with the core identity, expand the People accordion.

View a person's linked personas

  1. Navigate to the View or View One page for the target person. EmpowerID provides two main ways to do this. You can navigate to the page by searching for the person Person using the Global search bar at the top of the page (quickest), or you can navigate to the page by searching for the person Person using the Find Person page.

  2. On the personSelect the Report tab on the Person's View or View One page, select the Report tab and .

  3. Select the Identities subtab .Expand and expand the Personas Linked to Same Core Identity accordion.
    You should see all personas linked to the core identity.

Select and switch personas

  1. Log in as any person attached to the same the core identity, and you can choose which person Person to log in as.

  2. Select the desired persona.

  3. If you need to switch personas after logging in, click the user name at the top of the page and select the desired persona from the Login As field.
