Eligible assignees are those users who are eligible to receive a license from license bundles according to the eligibility specifications you set for those bundles. Eligible assignees are generally users belonging to a group, but can include any other EmpowerID actor type, such as a Management Role or a Business Role and Location. Regardless of the actor type selected, all users belonging to that type will be granted a license.

To add eligible assignees to license bundles, you need to have one of the following Management Roles:

  • License Admin for All Pools and Bundles

  • License Manager for All Bundles

  • License Manager for Bundles Where Owner

How to add eligible assignees to license bundles

  1. On the navbar, expand Azure License Manager and select Manage Assignments.

  2. Select the License Bundles tab and search for license bundle to which you want to add the eligible assignee.

  3. Click the License Bundle link for the target bundle.

  4. On the Assignments tab of the License Bundle Details page, click the Eligible License Assignees accordion to expand it and then click the Add New button.

  5. Select the EmpowerID actor type you want to make an eligible assignee from the Which Type of Assignee for this Policy drop-down. In this example, we are selecting group as the assignee.

  6. Select the specific assignee (in this case, group) from the Select <Assignee to Receive Policy drop-down.

  7. Click Save.

Members of the group can now shop for a license from the IT Shop.
