The management roles, in EmpowerID, is the bundle of technical roles, entitlements, and permissions to complete everyday job duties. The management roles are needed in modern organizations as not all access needed is either job-based or necessarily assigned directly to a business role.

For example, a cross-functional team working on initiatives or projects may need “activity-based” functional roles known as “management roles”.

Management roles not only provide activity-based roles but also, can be used for cross-department collaborations and project teams. In a nutshell, the management role is more flexible than the business role as it is less tied to a person’s job description.

It is worth noting that management roles inherit access level assignment from their definition and then add any assignment to itself as depicted in the image below.

Key Takeaways:

  1. The management roles are needed in modern organizations as not all access needed is job-based.

  2. A management role can not be children of other management role.

  3. Management role inheritance can be 1 level deep from a definition of management role.

  4. A management role can not have more than one parent.
