After setting up PBAC Resource Types for your PBAC-enabled application in EmpowerID, the next step involves integrating your actual application resources with these predefined types. This process ensures that each resource within your application is correctly classified, facilitating precise access control and security measures. PBAC App Resources are the specific instances within your application – such as web pages, database tables, or UI controls – that you want to protect using the PBAC framework.

Prerequisites

Please ensure that you have added PBAC Resource Types to the application before attempting to add app resources. Otherwise, when attempting to add new PBAC App Resources to your PBAC-enabled application in EmpowerID, you will encounter a situation where the "Add New PBAC Resource" button is inactive or grayed out. The functionality to add PBAC App Resources is directly tied to the presence of PBAC Resource Types within the application's configuration. These resource types act as categories or classifications for your application's resources, enabling specific access controls. Without any PBAC Resource Types defined and associated with the application, it's not possible to proceed with adding resources, as the system lacks the necessary context for classification and access management.

Procedure

  1. In Resource Admin, use the search functionality to find the PBAC application for which you intend to add app resources and click the Details button for the app record.
