Setting the Usage Type for a Location

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Locations tab, search for the location for which you want to set the Usage Type, and then click the Display Name link for it.

  3. On the Location Details page that appears, click the Edit link to put the location in Edit mode.

  4. On the General tab of the edit page, set the Usage Type to the appropriate value.

     

  5. Click Save.

Directly Assigning Business Roles to Locations

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Business Roles tab, search for the Business Role you want to directly assign to a location, and then click the Display Name link for it.

  3. On the Business Roles Details page that appears, expand the Advanced accordion, and then click the Edit link under Direct Assigned Locations.

     

  4. In the tree that appears, search for and select the desired location and then click Save to close the tree. If you want the Business Domain for the Business Role to appear to users in the IT Shop, be sure the location has the correct Usage Type for Business Roles.

  5. If needed, click the Edit link again and repeat step 4 to assign the Business Role to another location.

  6. When finished assigning locations, click Save on the main page.  

Directly Assigning Application Roles to Locations

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Identity Administration and click Groups.

  2. Select the All Groups tab, search for the group you want to directly assign to a location, and then click the Logon Name link for it.

  3. On the Group Details page that appears, select the Advanced tab, and then click the Edit link under Direct Assigned Locations.  

     

  4. In the tree that appears, search for and select the desired location and then click Save to close the tree. If you want the Process for the Application Role to appear to users in the IT Shop, be sure the location has the correct Usage Type for Application Roles.

  5. If needed, click the Edit link again and repeat step 4 to assign the Application Role to another location.

  6. When finished assigning locations, click Save on the main page.
