In Azure Licensing Manager, license bundles are the assignable policy object that you create and add to a license pool in order to grant to users a particular subscription in Azure. Once you create a license bundle, eligible assignees can request a license in the IT Shop.

You need to have either the License Admin for All Pools and Bundles Management Role or a combination of the Management Roles specified in the Azure Licensing Manager Management Roles topic to create a license bundle.

How to create license bundles

  1. On the navbar, click Azure License Manager to expand it and then click Manage Assignments.

  2. Select the License Bundles tab and then click the Add New button at the top of the grid.

  3. Fill in the fields on the License Bundle form that appears.

    • Name — Enter a logical name for the license bundle.

    • Display Name — Enter the name for the license bundle that users see when searching for it in the UI.

    • Tenant Subscriptions — Enter the name of the license subscription that you want to manage with the bundle and then click the tile for that subscription to select it.

    • License Pool — Enter the name of of the license pool for the bundle and then click the tile for that pool to select it.

    • Enabled — Check to enable the license bundle.

    • Creation Location — Click the Select a Location link and then search for and select the location.

  4. When ready, click Save to create the license bundle.

Now that you have created a license bundle, you can configure it as needed, adding license assignees, eligible assignees, exclusion rules, responsible parties and a license fulfillment group to it. See Configuring License Bundles for more information.
