If a person attempts to log in to EmpowerID but repeatedly types the wrong password within the configured time for the person, EmpowerID will lock that person. Once locked, the person will not be able to log in during the lockout period specified for that person. If a user has been locked in EmpowerID, you can easily unlock that person's account from Chatbot following the procedure below,


  1. Type help to bring the options menu on the bot.

  2. Click on Helpdesk unlock a locked-out user.

  3. The bot will ask you the locked-out person login or email.

  4. Please type the requested login or email for the locked-out User.

  5. Chatbot finds the person and asks you to verify.

  6. Clicking on verify will present you with the security question and the answer given by the locked-out person. If the displayed User is not the User you are looking to unlock, please click on Another user?

  7. If you click on verify button, the bot will display you with the security question and the answer given by the locked-out person. Clicking on Answered Correctly will immediately unlock the person and display a message, "User unlocked. "If the answer is incorrect, you can opt to click on Fail, which will cancel the process.

  8. You would be able to choose a new person if you had clicked on Another user. Enter the login or email of the User and click on search.

  9. Clicking on verify will unlock the person or if the person is still the wrong one, click on Another user to search again.
