Adding PBAC Resource Types
PBAC Resource Types define categories of application resources, such as pages, lists, and controls that require restricted access. By integrating PBAC Resource Types, you can effectively organize and categorize these resources, ensuring streamlined and secure access control tailored to your organization's needs. This approach enhances security by enforcing policies that govern who can access which resources and under what conditions.
To effectively utilize PBAC Resource Types for categorizing your application’s resources, the definition used for creating the application’s resource module should encompass app resources. If it does not, and you need to add these resources, you can adjust the application’s settings via the Manage Application Wizard. To access the Manage Application Wizard, right-click the gear icon on the application record and select "Manage Application Wizard," as shown below.
Procedure
Sign in to Resource Admin as at least an Application RBAC Owner.
In Resource Admin, locate the application to which you want to add PBAC Resource Types.
Click the Details button next to the application's record to access its Overview page.
On the Overview page, browse to PBAC Definitions > PBAC Resource Types and click Add New PBAC Resource Type.
Fill in the fields of the “Add New PBAC Resource Type” form and click Save.
Repeat to create additional PBAC Resource Types as needed.
Expected Results
After finishing the outlined steps, you will see entries for each PBAC Resource Type under the PBAC Definitions section. These entries mark the successful categorization of your application's resources, setting the stage for additional access control settings.
