---title: Creating Assets and Access Request Items---

Provisioning Assets from Asset Requests

When users request an asset from the IT Shop, EmpowerID routes the request to an designated approver, such as the Access Manager for that asset. In order to provision the asset, that approver must approve the request.

This topic demonstrates how to provision an asset from an Asset Request and is divided into the following activities:

To provision an asset from an Asset Request

  1. Log in to the EmpowerID Web application as an administrator or person with the ability to approve the Asset Request (Access Manager for the Asset Request).
  2. From the Navigation Sidebar, navigate to the Tasks To Do page by expanding Tasks and Requests > Workflow Tasks and clicking Tasks To Do.
  3. Search for the Create Asset workflow.
  4. In the Search Results grid, click the drop-down arrow to the left of the Asset Request from which you want to provision the asset and then select Approve from the Decision drop-down.
  5. Click the Shopping Cart and in the My Cart dialog that opens, type a reason for the approval and then click Submit.

To verify that the asset was provisioned

  1. From the Request Center, click the drop-down arrow to the left of the request and then click the link for the Asset Request you approved.
  2. Next, verify that the person has the shared folder by clicking the link for the person in the Affected Resources accordion.
  3. From the View Page, expand the Person Access Summary accordion. You should see the Person has been given rights to a shared folder.
  4. Next, locate the parent shared folder under which the home folders provisioned by the Asset Request are placed. You should see the home folder for the Person.
