Submitted Business Requests raise events in EmpowerID that create approval tasks for designated approvers in accordance with configured Approval Flow policies. Persons receiving approval tasks can opt to have these tasks route to other users for approval. This feature is known as “Permanent Delegations.“

To set up permanent delegations do the following:

  1. Log in to the My Tasks application.

  2. In My Tasks, click your username and select Permanent Delegations.

  3. Click New Delegation.


    This opens the Create a New Delegation model.

  4. From the Create a New Delegation model, select the type of delegation you want to create. You have the following options:

    • All Types – Select this option to delegate all tasks for which you would be an approver to another person.

    • Select Types Select this option to delegate tasks from a specific Approval policy to another person

    • Person Name – Search for and select the person(s) to whom you want to delegate approval tasks

    • Delegate Forever – Select this option to permanently delegate selected approval tasks

    • Only when out of office – Select this option to delegate approval tasks when you are out of office

    • Start Date – Date the delegation begins

    • End Date – Date the delegation ends (this option does not appear if Delegate Forever is selected)

  5. Click Create Delegation.


    You should see the new delegations on the Permanent Delegations tab of My Identity. From here, you can edit and delete the delegations as needed.
