Register FIDO2 Security Key

If your organization has enabled FIDO2 WebAuthn for passwordless and usernameless logins, you can register a FIDO2 security key to allow you to take advantage of this feature. Once you register the key, you can authenticate without using your username and password.

Register the security key

1. From your browser navigate to your organization’s portal for the My Identity app and authenticate.

2. Select Workflows from the View dropdown.
   

   

3. Click Register FIDO2 Security Key.
   

   

4. Insert your security key, give your device a name, and click Proceed.
   

   

5. When prompted to verify your identity with EmpowerID, select External security key or built-in sensor.
   

   

6. Wait for the device to be authenticated.
   

   

   
   You should see a message stating that your device has been successfully registered.
   

   

7. Click Submit to close the message.
