Register FIDO2 Security Key

If your organization has enabled FIDO2 WebAuthn for passwordless and usernameless logins, you can use this feature to register a FIDO2 security key. After registering the key, you can authenticate without using your username and password.

Register the security key

1. Log in to the My Tasks portal for your environment.

2. In My Tasks, click View Profile on your identity record.

3. Click Manage Your Identity.
   
   

   Open

   

    

4. Under What would you like to do? select Register an MFA authenticator and click Next.
   
   

5. Insert your security key, name your device, and click Proceed.
   
   

    

6. When prompted to verify your identity with EmpowerID, select External security key or built-in sensor.
   
   

    

7. Wait for the device to be authenticated.
   
   

    

   You should see a message stating that your device has been successfully registered.
   
   

    

8. Click Submit to close the message.
