Many organizations currently share privileged passwords internally, often resorting to insecure methods such as jotting them down on Post-it notes, transmitting them via email, or maintaining spreadsheets containing comprehensive lists of multiple passwords. Regrettably, these practices are fraught with security risks and have been linked to data breaches. EmpowerID offers a robust solution in the form of a password vault, which ensures the secure sharing of passwords and other sensitive information, including API keys and digital certificates.

Within EmpowerID, end users can request temporary access to vaulted credentials, with the flexibility of granular policies that govern who is authorized to request specific credentials, the duration of access, and whether the credential's password should be automatically reset upon check-in. These requests can follow pre-defined approval workflows or be routed for approval, which can be conveniently tracked through a user-friendly business interface. To maintain accountability and transparency, EmpowerID's audit logs meticulously document every user's access to privileged credentials, providing a comprehensive record that includes the identity of the approver and the duration of access granted.
