EmpowerID offers a seamless way to add new management roles to your system through its user-friendly wizard interface. With just a few steps, you can create, customize, and implement roles effortlessly. The intuitive wizard guides you through naming the role, assigning owners, setting default assignees, and configuring how the role appears in the IAM shop. This streamlined process empowers you to manage roles and permissions efficiently.

In EmpowerID, Management Roles are collections of operational capabilities. They are packaged as job-based bundles that let you make quick and easy bulk assignments of resources to users that match what they do in your organization. Think of Management Roles as a more powerful version of groups that

  • can grant access across platforms and

  • are not limited to granting access to one application or operating system.

EmpowerID includes a number of Management Roles that you can assign to people out of the box, and you can create new ones as needed.

Please follow the instructions below to onboard the role and ensure that the management role was properly added.

Onboard a Management Role

  1. Navigate to the portal for the Resource Admin app in your environment.

  2. In Resource Admin, select Management Role from the dropdown at the top of the page.

  3. Select the Workflows tab and click Onboard a Management Role.



    You will now see the Onboard Management Role wizard workflow. Simply follow the step-by-step guide and provide all the necessary details for the Management Role in each section. Remember to click on "Next" after completing each step.

     

  4. Please click on the "Submit" button to create the management role and exit the wizard.

  5. To verify that the management role was added successfully, navigate back to the Management Roles page in the IAM shop. Enter the job management role in the search box and click enter. You can use the filters on the left sidebar to narrow your search, including Applications, Location, Business Function, and other options.
