Terminate a Privileged Session

In EmpowerID, Computer Credential Access Managers (owners) and designated administrators can terminate active sessions directly through the interface. This capability facilitates immediate control over session activities, enhancing security management.

Terminating and Resuming Sessions

When an administrator terminates an active Privileged Session Management (PSM) session, the session is not closed but paused. This pause allows the following actions:

  • Session Interruption: The user engaged in the session experiences a pause, effectively stopping all activities on the machine.

  • Session Resumption: The user can resume the interrupted session by performing another Remote Login. Upon re-entry, the session continues from where it was previously terminated.

This feature ensures that sessions can be quickly halted for security reasons or other administrative needs while providing flexibility for users to return to their tasks without losing progress. It's a crucial tool for managing the organization's security and efficiency of remote access.
