Request Credentials

Requesting credentials allows you to "check out" encrypted user names and passwords for privileged accounts that your organization has vaulted. If your request is approved, you will be able to see and use the credentials for a specified period. Follow these steps to request credentials:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IAM Shop Portal

    • Navigate to the IAM Shop portal for your organization and log in using your credentials.

  2. Select Credentials as the Resource Type

    • Select Credentials from the Resource Type dropdown menu.

    • Navigate to the Request Access tab and search for the desired credentials.

  3. Request Access

    • Click the Request Access button next to the shared credential.

      This action opens the request card for the credential.

  4. Choose Access Type

    • Select the desired Access Type

      • One Time Access – Choose this if you need to check out the credential only once.

      • Pre-Approved – Choose this if you will require regular access to the credential.

      • Click Unlock.

  5. Enter Master Password

    • Enter your master password and click OK.

  6. Set Access Time (For One Time Access)

    • If you selected One Time Access, adjust the Start Date, Start Time, End Date, and End Time as needed.

  7. Add to Cart

    • Click Add to Cart.

    • Click the Cart at the top of the page to open it.

  8. Evaluate Request

    • Add a comment as needed and click Evaluate Request.

  9. Enter Business Reqyest Name

    • Enter a Business Request Name. The text entered here helps identify the purpose of the request to potential approvers.

  10. Submit the Request

    • Click Submit. You should see a message saying the cart was successfully submitted with a tracking link.

  11. View Status

    • To view the status, click the tracking link. This opens the request in My Tasks. From here, you can view details about the request, including process steps, approvers, and delegations.
