View Privileged Session Details

EmpowerID can record user activities during each RDP or SSH session linked to Access Request policies configured to enable session recording. This functionality allows administrators to review these recordings as needed to monitor and audit user actions.

Compliance with Data Protection Regulations

If operating within or dealing with users from jurisdictions subject to the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), specific measures must be adhered to:

  • Notification and Consent: It is mandatory to inform users that their session will be recorded. This notification should clearly explain the purpose of the recording, how it will be conducted, and the duration of data storage.

  • Opt-Out Option: Users must be informed that they have the choice to opt out of monitoring. By continuing with the session, they are giving their consent to be recorded. They must discontinue the session if they do not wish to be recorded.

  • Deactivation of Features: In cases where explicit consent cannot be assured, the features for live monitoring and session recording should be turned off to ensure compliance with GDPR.

These steps are crucial for maintaining privacy and ensuring that the organization's use of EmpowerID aligns with legal standards, safeguarding both the user's rights and organizational compliance status.

By implementing these guidelines, administrators can ensure that session recording and monitoring practices enhance security and accountability and respect and uphold data privacy laws.
