Make resources available in the IT Shop

Resources must be published to the IT Shop before eligible users can shop for access to those resources. Thus, when setting eligibility for a resource, you should make sure the resource is published. If it is not, you can make it available by setting the Publish in IT Shop property to true.

This article demonstrates how to publish common resource types to the IT Shop, including:

  • Applications

  • Groups

  • Business Roles

  • Management Roles

  • Shared Folders

Generally, when creating new resources for the above resource types, the Publish in IT Shop property is set to true and must be explicitly set to false to exclude it from being available in the IT Shop.

Publish applications

  1. On the navbar, expand Single Sign-On and click Applications.

  2. From the Applications tab of the Find Applications page, search for the application you want to enable for the IT Shop.

  3. Click the Display Name link for the application.

    This directs you to the View page for the application. This page allows you to view and manage information about the application. Notice Publish In IT Shop is set to False.

  4. In the General pane, click the Display Name link to put the application in Edit mode.

  5. On the Edit page, scroll to the Optional Settings pane and select Publish in IT Shop.

  6. Click Add to Cart.

  7. Click the Cart icon to open your cart.

  8. Add a reason for the update to the application and then click Submit.

Publish groups

  1. On the navbar, expand Identity Administration and click Groups.

  2. On the Find Group page that appears, click All Groups and then search for the group you want to enable for the IT Shop.

  3. Click the Logon Name link to navigate to the View page for the group.

  4. On the View page, click the Advanced tab and then click the Name link to put the group in Edit mode.

  5. Select Publish in IT Shop.

  6. Save your changes.

Publish Business Roles

Business Roles must be combined with Locations for users to shop for them.

  1. On the navbar, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Business Roles tab and then search for the Business Role that you want to publish.

  3. Click the Display Name link to navigate to the View page for the Business Role.

  4. On the View page, click the Display Name link to put the role in edit mode.

  5. Select Publish in IT Shop.

  6. Save your changes.

Publish Management Roles

  1. On the navbar, expand Role Management and select Management Roles.

  2. Select the All Roles tab and then search for the Management Role that you want to publish.

  3. Click the Management Role link to navigate to the ViewOne page for the Management Role.

  4. On the ViewOne page, click the Display Name link to put the role in edit mode.

  5. Select Publish in IT Shop.

  6. Save your changes.

Publish Shared Folders

  1. On the navbar, expand Object Administration and select Shared Folders.

  2. Select the Non Home Folders tab and then search for the Shared Folder that you want to publish.

  3. Click the Share Name link to navigate to the ViewOne page for the Shared Folder.

  4. On the ViewOne page, click the Display Name link to put the folder in edit mode.

  5. Select Publish in IT Shop.

  6. Save your changes.
