Assign Management Roles to Business Role and Location Combinations

Management Roles are user-defined containers holding collections of Access Levels that have been packaged together into responsibility or job-based bundles to allow for the quick and easy bulk assignments of resources to resource users in a way that matches their job function. When you assign Management Roles to Business Role and Location (BRL) combinations, each member of the Business Role and Location will receive the access granted to the Management Role and be able to perform the tasks associated with them. For example, if you assign the Profile Self-Service Management Role to the Business Role and Location, each person in the Business Role and Location will be able to edit their own profiles.

Assign Management Roles to BRL Combinations

  1. On the navbar, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Allowed Combinations tab and search for the target Business Role and Location.

  3. Click the Business Role and Location link.


    This directs you to the View page for the Business Role and Location combination. View pages allow you to view and manage the objects to which they pertain.

     

  4. On the View page, select the Access subtab and then expand the Management Role Membership Granted By Business Role and Location accordion.

  5. Enter the name of the Management Role you want to assign to the BRL into the drop-down field and then click the tile for that role to select it.

     

  6. Repeat step 5 for each Management Role you want to assign to the BRL combination.

  7. When ready, click Submit to commit your changes.

Before submitting your changes, you can remove one or more Management Roles from the cart by clicking the Added icon and then clicking the Remove button beside the role(s) you want to remove, as shown in the below image.
