Configure EmpowerID OrgZone and OrgRole Tree Views

Users of EmpowerID may experience challenges when navigating the OrgZone tree view in environments with extensive organizational zones. EmpowerID has implemented a grid search feature within the OrgZone tree view to resolve this issue. This feature streamlines the search process and improves user satisfaction by providing a more effective method for finding specific OrgZones. Additionally, the feature can be tailored to support OrgRole trees, allowing users to search for Business Roles and Locations or browse them using traditional tree views based on their preferences.

Configuration Settings

EmpowerID provides the following configuration settings to customize the visibility and behavior of OrgZone and OrgRole trees. Different combinations of these settings support various user interface behaviors.

EIDBusinessLocationTreeAllowBrowseTab

This setting determines whether to display the Browse tab, which includes the hierarchical Location tree, in the Location Tree Viewer. By default, it is set to True.

EIDBusinessLocationTreeAllowSearchOnTree

This setting controls whether users can search for locations via the Location tree in the Browse tab. It is set to True by default.

This setting determines whether to display the Search tab in the Location Tree Viewer. By default, it is set to True.

EIDBusinessLocationTreeBrowseIsDefaultTab

This setting determines whether the Browse tab is the default active tab for the Location tree viewer. It is set to False by default.

EIDBusinessRoleTreeAllowBrowseTab

This setting determines whether to display the Browse tab, which includes the hierarchical Business Role tree, in the Business Role Tree Viewer. By default, it is set to True.

This setting controls whether users can search for roles via the Business Role tree in the Browse tab. It is set to True by default.

Editing the configuration

You can change the default behavior for the Role and Location Tree Views per your requirements. For instance, if you want to remove the Browse tab with the location tree from all workflows and pages containing the feature, you update the setting from True to False, as outlined below.

  1. Sign in to EmpowerID as a user with the SaaS Admin role. This role gives you access to Infrastructure Admin pages and workflows, including EmpowerID System settings.

  2. Browse to Infrastructure Admin > EmpowerID Servers and Settings > EmpowerID System Settings, then search for EIDBusiness.
    You should see all the settings for the Role and Location Tree Views.

     

  3. To remove the Browse tab for Location trees, click the Edit (Pencil) button for the EIDBusinessLocationTreeAllowBrowseTab setting.

  4. Change the Value from True to False.

     

  5. Save your changes,

Verify Changes

To verify your changes, browse any page with the specific Tree Viewer control you altered. The Browse tab should not be visible. Tip: You can view the tree structure by hovering over the full path.
