Configure Location Usage Types

Setting the Usage Type for a Location

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Locations tab, search for the location for which you want to set the Usage Type, and then click the Display Name link for it.

  3. On the Location Details page that appears, click the Edit link to put the location in Edit mode.

     

  4. On the General tab of the edit page, set the Usage Type to the appropriate value.

     

  5. Click Save.

Setting the Allowed Location Types on Business Roles

  1. Navigate to the Find Business Roles and Locations page by expanding Role Management and selecting Business Roles and Locations from the navbar.

  2. Select the Business Roles tab on the Find page, search for the Business Role to which you want to set the Allowed Location Type, and click the Display Name link for it.


    This directs you to the View One page for the Business Role. View One pages are designed to facilitate the viewing and management of their corresponding objects in EmpowerID.

     

  3. Click the Edit link under Allowed Location Types.

     

  4. Select the desired Location Type.

     

  5. Save your changes.

Directly Assigning Business Roles to Locations

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Role Management and click Business Roles and Locations.

  2. Select the Business Roles tab, search for the Business Role you want to directly assign to a location, and then click the Display Name link for it.


    This opens the View One page for the Business Role. View One pages are designed to facilitate the viewing and management of the corresponding objects in EmpowerID.

     

  3. Click the Edit link under Direct Assigned Locations in the Advanced accordion of the View One page.

     

  4. Click the Select a Location link and In the tree that appears, search for and select the desired location and then click Save to close the tree. If you want the Business Domain for the Business Role to appear to users in the IAM Shop, be sure the location has the correct Usage Type for Business Roles.

  5. If needed, click the Edit link again and repeat step 4 to assign the Business Role to another location.

  6. When finished assigning locations, click Save on the main page.  

Directly Assigning Groups to Locations

  1. On the navbar of the EmpowerID Web interface, expand Identity Administration and click Groups.

  2. Select the All Groups tab, search for the group you want to directly assign to a location, and then click the Logon Name link for it.


    This opens the View One page for the group. View One pages are designed to facilitate the viewing and management of the corresponding objects in EmpowerID.

     

  3. Select the Advanced tab and click the Edit link under Direct Assigned Locations.  

     

  4. Search for and select the desired location in the tree that appears, and then click Save to close the tree. If you want the Process for the group to appear to users in the IAM Shop, be sure the location has the correct Usage Type for groups.

  5. If needed, click the Edit link again and repeat step 4 to assign the group to another location.

  6. When finished assigning locations, click Save on the main page.
