The Chatbot automatically will authorize you regardless of the platform (teams, mobile app, or other) and present you with options Chatbot can do. You can easily click on the option provided to initiate a request.

Chatbot Authorization Error: "Sorry, authorization failed. Please contact your system administrator regarding your Teams account."

If you receive the above error message, please request that your administrator or the IT Department to configure your account to allow you to access the Chatbot from your team's channel. You should be able to access the Chabot after your account is configured correctly by the administrators. More information about the error is provided here.

You can always type Help in any conversation context that will bring the above screen for you with options. Also, if the bot cannot understand your input in any instance, it will ask you to type the command “help.”

Except for the buttons provided, the bot can also understand relevant text and commands. E.g., if you type “create a person with name nick paul, “the chatbot will initiate the create person workflow and present you with the form to create a person. You can learn more about the commands in the section below.

You can input the command cancel in any conversation context to end a task and request a new operation with the bot. Except for other nifty features, Ask to See Commands will get you answers to common queries at your fingertips without opening the browser.

Help

The bot is always listening to the command “Help, “which will provide a list of options of workflows the bot can execute.

  1. Open the Bot.

  2. Type help, and find the list of options that the bot can run for you.

Commands

The Chatbot can also understand your text inputs and treat it as a command if the text is relevant to the operations it can perform. It’s very easy to use the command, just type the text, and the Chatbot will predict the meaning and execute the workflows/operations. As you can see in the image below, change password command will present you with a form to change the password.

The common type of commands or text supported by Chatbot is provided below.
