Modify Proxy Information for Cloud Gateway Client

The procedures described here require you to change the RemoteRuntimeWorkerProcess.exe.config file. Before modifying the file, please make a backup copy that you can use to restore the original file if necessary.

Change the Proxy Configuration

When the server hosting EmpowerID changes, the proxy information for the Cloud Gateway needs to be updated to reflect that change. Please follow the instructions below to update the proxy configuration for the installed Cloud Gateway Client.

Please follow this procedure only if your EmpowerID server hosting has changed. Setting up the Cloud Gateway Client for the first time doesn’t require these changes.

  1. Navigate to the installation directory of the Cloud gateway. The default location of the installation is C:\Program Files\TheDotNetFactory\Cloud Gateway.

  2. Find a config file named RemoteRuntimeWorkerProcess.exe.config. Open the file in any text editor.

  3. Navigate to the defaultProxy → proxy section of the file and replace the value of the old server with the new one.

  4. Restart the “EmpowerID Remote Agent Service” for the new settings to take effect.

Bypass Proxy Server

Specific DNS names/IP Addresses can be configured to bypass proxy server configuration (whether the URL requested goes through proxy or is bypassed). Adding the URL in bypasslist of the Cloud Gateway Client configuration makes it possible to avoid the proxy.

The instructions provided below are for the SaaS implementations. Please consider following instructions in the doc Configure Proxy Settings to Avoid Connection Refused Error for on-premise customers.

  1. Navigate to the installation directory of Cloud gateway. The default location of the installation is C:\Program Files\TheDotNetFactory\Cloud Gateway.

  2. Find a config file named RemoteRuntimeWorkerProcess.exe.config. Open the file in any text editor.

  3. Navigate to the defaultProxy → bypasslist section of the file and add/remove the value of the address.

  4. Restart the EmpowerID Remote Agent Service for the new settings to take effect.
