About MyIdentity

MyIdentity is a microservice application provided by EmpowerID and hosted in Azure. This application grants users access to relevant information regarding their organization and themselves. Users can perform several tasks within the application, including:

Viewing and editing their profiles.
Modifying their email notification preferences.
Setting their Exchange Online Out of Office Status.
Creating permanent delegations to route approval tasks generated to other individuals.

With MyIdentity, users can manage aspects of their personal information effectively, optimizing their productivity and personalizing their user experience. The application provides a simple and user-friendly way for individuals to access and manage their information within the organization.

MyIdentity User Interface

Navigating My Identity

When users log in to MyIdentity, they are presented with pages and controls that correspond to the access rights granted to their assigned roles. In the image below, the logged-in user has full access to the application and can view all pages and controls available to them.

The MyIdentity application includes the following controls. Depending on their access to MyIdentity, not all users will see all controls.

App Sidebar – Allows users to seamlessly navigate from MyIdentity to other EmpowerID applications
White Pages – Provides users with a single location for viewing their identity information and that of others in the organization. White pages contain the following tabbed views:
- My Identities – Provides a view all the user’s person identities
- All People – Provides a view of all people in the organization
- My Direct Reports – View of the current user’s direct reports
- My Department – View of people belonging to the same department as the current user
- Internals – View of all people within the organization
- Externals – View of all people outside of the organization, such as partners and customers
Approval Delegations page – Provides users with the ability to delegate tasks for which they are an approver to other people. Delegated tasks, as well as those delegated to the person by another, can be viewed here. Delegations created by the user can be edited and deleted from this page as needed.
Workflows – Provides access to workflows the current user is authorized to run
Email Notifications – Provides users with the ability to selectively pick the email notifications they receive, change the frequency of those emails, or chose to not receive email notifications.
View Profile – Displays profile information and organizational data about the current user, allowing them to edit that information as needed.

MyIdentity Architecture

MyIdentity is a pre-built EmpowerID microservice application that includes several protected application subcomponents, referred to as "subcomponents" in this context. These subcomponents serve as functional units of the microservice, constituting the individual pages and controls that users interact with to access its features. Each subcomponent is essentially an application in itself, allowing its access to be modified for users via their Access Level assignments. This also makes the microservice easily customizable, with the ability to add or remove subcomponents directly from the EmpowerID Web interface.
