Overview of the IT Shop

EmpowerID provides a central location called the "IT Shop" from which users can request access to the resources your organization makes available to them. To request access to resources – known as “Business Requests” – users navigate to the IT Shop, where they can see what they currently have access to and shop for more. Once they have located the desired resource for which they are eligible, they simply add it to their shopping cart and when ready submit the cart for approval.

Figure 1 below shows the main flow that occurs for users shopping for resources in the IT Shop.

Navigating the IT Shop

When users log in to the IT Shop, they can see the pages and controls to which their roles grant them access. (See IT Shop Management Roles for access granted.) In the below image, the logged-in user has full access to the IT Shop and can see all pages and controls.
